NARPO is made up of retired police officers from all police forces throughout England, Wales and the Isle of Man, together with their spouses, widows and widowers.   From an initial membership of 3000 the Association has grown and now embraces 120 Branches with a total membership of over 70,000.  It is the only organisation that exists to protect the rights of Police Pensioners.

 

The Manchester & District Branch has a membership in excess of 1100, comprising over 900 Full members, 13 Life members, over 175 Widows and over 30 Associate members.

 

THE RANGE OF BENEFITS CONFERRED BY MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES:

Collating employment opportunities for  members seeking work or wanting to change jobs.

Providing training for members to prepare them for life after their Police Service careers.

Giving that extra help and assistance to individuals facing problems arising from their service or their pensions.

Providing assistance and comfort to members on welfare matters.

Giving emotional and material support to members in times of need, especially during illness or bereavement.

Offering support and assistance to enable members to complete complex and difficult paperwork successfully.

Representing members' interests during Pension, Sickness Pension and Benefit Agency appeals.
